BUSTYA
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 September 2026
BUSTYA is an Australian bill-analysis service. We take privacy seriously and aim to collect only the information required to provide, secure and improve the service. This policy explains how we handle personal information.
1. Information we collect
We may collect your email address and account information, information contained in bills you choose to upload, bill-analysis results and history, subscription and payment status, support or feedback messages, and technical information required to operate and secure the service.
Uploaded bills may contain personal information supplied by your service provider. BUSTYA processes bill content to extract information relevant to bill analysis, comparison and recommendations. We design structured analysis and evidence capture to avoid retaining unnecessary personal identifiers where they are not required for those functions.
2. How we collect information
We collect information directly when you create or use a BUSTYA account, upload a bill, subscribe, or contact us. Some operational information is generated when BUSTYA analyses a bill or when you use the service.
3. How we use information
We use information to authenticate your account, securely receive and analyse bills, build your bill history, compare genuine billing periods, provide supported recommendations and monitoring, manage subscriptions, communicate service information, respond to support and feedback, prevent misuse, troubleshoot problems and improve BUSTYA.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
4. Storage and service providers
BUSTYA uses reputable technology providers to operate functions such as hosting, authentication, data storage, bill analysis, payments and email delivery. Information may be processed by these providers where required to deliver those functions.
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. The countries involved can vary according to provider infrastructure and configuration. We review our service arrangements and take reasonable steps to protect information handled on our behalf.
5. Bill analysis and automated processing
BUSTYA uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to extract and analyse supported bill information. Automated analysis can make mistakes, so BUSTYA reports and recommendations should be checked against the original bill and relevant provider information before you make a financial decision.
BUSTYA may use your bill history to identify changes, create comparisons and determine whether supported recommendation or monitoring features can be shown. We do not intentionally use unnecessary personal identifiers for those comparisons.
6. Payments
Subscription payments are processed through our payment provider. BUSTYA does not require your full payment-card details to be stored in the BUSTYA application in order to provide the service. Payment and subscription records may be retained as required for account administration, accounting and legal obligations.
7. Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse and disclosure. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain information for as long as reasonably required to provide the service, maintain necessary business and legal records, resolve disputes, protect the service and meet applicable obligations. Retention periods can vary according to the type of information.
8. Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information BUSTYA holds about you or request that inaccurate information be corrected. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Privacy questions and complaints
If you have a privacy question, want to request access or correction, or believe your personal information has been handled incorrectly, contact us at support@bustya.com.au. We will review the matter and respond as reasonably practicable.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act 1988 applies to the matter, you may also have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when BUSTYA's services, technology or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its latest update date.
This policy describes BUSTYA's current privacy practices and is intended to be read together with any specific privacy notice presented when information is collected.
